Why is the U.S.A. not mentioned in prophecy?

q.gif (1639 bytes)    Why is not the U.S mentioned in the Bible? We play no part in the end times? We are the the supreme country... I don’t understand?

a.gif (1659 bytes)   Although it may seem that the United States is so important that it must be mentioned somewhere in prophecy, we are but a young country, as far as world powers and empires go. We are only a little over 200 years old, and the way that the moral tone of the nation is going, we may not be around much longer. Our nation’s top officials just voted and said that our President was "not guilty." That means that we have sunk to an all time low. Consider the warnings of the Bible.

Isaiah 5:20-25 says, "WOE UNTO THEM THAT CALL EVIL GOOD, AND GOOD EVIL; (Our nation has called President Clinton "good," and Kenneth Star "evil" — just the opposite of the true facts) that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter! Woe unto them that are wise in their own eyes, and prudent in their own sight! Woe unto them that are mighty to drink wine, and men of strength to mingle strong drink: WHICH JUSTIFY THE WICKED FOR REWARD, (The senators of the United States of America have admitted that the President lied, but still voted to keep him in office. Why? So they could receive a reward — retain their jobs) and take away the righteousness of the righteous from him! Therefore as the fire devoureth the stubble, and the flame consumeth the chaff, so their root shall be as rottenness, and their blossom shall go up as dust: because they have cast away the law of the LORD of hosts, and despised the word of the Holy One of Israel. Therefore is the anger of the LORD kindled against his people, and he hath stretched forth his hand against them, and hath smitten them: and the hills did tremble, and their carcases were torn in the midst of the streets. For all this his anger is not turned away, but his hand is stretched out still."

When a nation’s leaders put their stamp of approval upon evil, that nation is in big trouble. Matthew 23:37-24:2 says, "O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, thou that killest the prophets, and stonest them which are sent unto thee, how often would I have gathered thy children together, even as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings, and ye would not! Behold, your house is left unto you desolate. For I say unto you, Ye shall not see me henceforth, till ye shall say, Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord. And Jesus went out, and departed from the temple: and his disciples came to him for to show him the buildings of the temple. And Jesus said unto them, See ye not all these things? verily I say unto you, There shall not be left here one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down."

The Jewish leaders officially rejected Jesus when He came to Jerusalem on the colt. Matthew 21:4-16 says, "All this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, saying, Tell ye the daughter of Sion, Behold, thy King cometh unto thee, meek, and sitting upon an ass, and a colt the foal of an ass. And the disciples went, and did as Jesus commanded them, And brought the ass, and the colt, and put on them their clothes, and they set him thereon. And a very great multitude spread their garments in the way; others cut down branches from the trees, and strowed them in the way. And the multitudes that went before, and that followed, cried, saying, Hosanna to the son of David: Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord; Hosanna in the highest. And when he was come into Jerusalem, all the city was moved, saying, Who is this? And the multitude said, This is Jesus the prophet of Nazareth of Galilee. And Jesus went into the temple of God, and cast out all them that sold and bought in the temple, and overthrew the tables of the moneychangers, and the seats of them that sold doves, And said unto them, It is written, My house shall be called the house of prayer; but ye have made it a den of thieves. And the blind and the lame came to him in the temple; and he healed them. And when THE CHIEF PRIESTS AND SCRIBES saw the wonderful things that he did, and the children crying in the temple, and saying, Hosanna to the son of David; THEY WERE SORE DISPLEASED, And said unto him, Hearest thou what these say? And Jesus saith unto them, Yea; have ye never read, Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings thou hast perfected praise?"

Later, when Pilate was ready to release Jesus, they did the same thing. Matthew 27:15-20 says, "Now at that feast the governor was wont to release unto the people a prisoner, whom they would. And they had then a notable prisoner, called Barabbas. Therefore when they were gathered together, Pilate said unto them, Whom will ye that I release unto you? Barabbas, or Jesus which is called Christ? For he knew that for envy they had delivered him. When he was set down on the judgment seat, his wife sent unto him, saying, Have thou nothing to do with that just man: for I have suffered many things this day in a dream because of him. But THE CHIEF PRIESTS AND ELDERS persuaded the multitude that they should ask Barabbas, AND DESTROY JESUS."

America’s leaders have just put their stamp of approval upon evil. That is a very serious matter. In the case of Jerusalem, it only lasted another 30+ years, and then it was destroyed. Could "great America" actually come down that quickly? Revelation 18:5-20 says, "For HER SINS HAVE REACHED UNTO HEAVEN, and God hath remembered her iniquities. Reward her even as she rewarded you, and double unto her double according to her works: in the cup which she hath filled fill to her double. How much she hath glorified herself, and LIVED DELICIOUSLY, so much torment and sorrow give her: for she saith in her heart, I sit a queen, and am no widow, and shall see no sorrow. THEREFORE SHALL HER PLAGUES COME IN ONE DAY, death, and mourning, and famine; and she shall be utterly burned with fire: for strong is the Lord God who judgeth her. And the kings of the earth, who have committed fornication and lived deliciously with her, shall bewail her, and lament for her, when they shall see the smoke of her burning, Standing afar off for the fear of her torment, saying, Alas, alas that great city Babylon, that mighty city! for IN ONE HOUR IS THY JUDGMENT COME. And the merchants of the earth shall weep and mourn over her; for NO MAN BUYETH THEIR MERCHANDISE ANY MORE: The merchandise of gold, and silver, and precious stones, and of pearls, and fine linen, and purple, and silk, and scarlet, and all thyine wood, and all manner vessels of ivory, and all manner vessels of most precious wood, and of brass, and iron, and marble, And cinnamon, and odours, and ointments, and frankincense, and wine, and oil, and fine flour, and wheat, and beasts, and sheep, and horses, and chariots, and slaves, and souls of men. And the fruits that thy soul lusted after are departed from thee, and all things which were dainty and goodly are departed from thee, and thou shalt find them no more at all. The merchants of these things, which were made rich by her, shall stand afar off for the fear of her torment, weeping and wailing, And saying, Alas, alas, that great city, that was clothed in fine linen, and purple, and scarlet, and decked with gold, and precious stones, and For IN ONE HOUR SO GREAT RICHES IS COME TO NOUGHT. And every shipmaster, and all the company in ships, and sailors, and as many as trade by sea, stood afar off, And cried when they saw the smoke of her burning, saying, What city is like unto this great city! And they cast dust on their heads, and cried, weeping and wailing, saying, Alas, alas, that great city, wherein were made rich all that had ships in the sea by reason of her costliness! for IN ONE HOUR IS SHE MADE DESOLATE. Rejoice over her, thou heaven, and ye holy apostles and prophets; for God hath avenged you on her." Judgment could fall at any moment.

Proverbs 14:34 says, "Righteousness exalteth a nation: but sin is a reproach to any people." It is said that "Rome crumbled from within," and so is it true of America.

Hosea 4:9-12 says, "And there shall be, like people, like priest: and I will punish them for their ways, and reward them their doings. For they shall eat, and not have enough: they shall commit whoredom, and shall not increase: because they have left off to take heed to the LORD. Whoredom and wine and new wine take away the heart. My people ask counsel at their stocks (news media’s polls), and their staff declareth unto them: for the spirit of whoredoms hath caused them to err, and they have gone a whoring from under their God." That is what America has done — gone a whoring from the true and living God.

What can we do? II Chronicles 7:14 has the answer. "If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land."
