What about the 700 Club?

q.gif (1639 bytes)    What is your opinion on the 700 club? I was watching it the other night and at the end when they prayed for people’s ailments that just happened to pop up in their head. Seemed more like a physic hotline or something?

a.gif (1659 bytes)   Please refer to a recent question "Does God promise to heal everyone who comes to Him?" It is about the 8th question below this one in the list.

The 700 Club is a Charismatic Organization. They do not believe the clear teaching that it is not God’s will to heal everyone of their ailments. Sometimes, God gets more glory through our lives when we are weak — not when we are strong physically. II Corinthians 12:8-10 says, "For this thing I besought the Lord thrice, that it might depart from me. And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ's sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong."

I have not seen the 700 Club in years, but the last time that I did, it was more like a Hollywood performance, than a ministry. You will learn far more by spending your time reading the Bible, than by watching "Hollywood Christianity" that is so deeply in error today.
