Instructions for reconciliation?

q.gif (1639 bytes)    I have split from my ex-fiancée who I have a daughter to. The split actually happened October 1999 and my daughter was born March 2000. Are there any examples in the Bible of reconciled partners, ANY promises of reconciliation, AND ARE THERE ANY Bible Scriptures that tell a husband how to bring a wife's heart back to reconcile?

If you are truly saved, then you must repent of your sin of immorality and humble yourself before God. James 4:8-10 says, “Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded. Be afflicted, and mourn, and weep: let your laughter be turned to mourning, and your joy to heaviness. Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up.” You need to confess your sin to the Lord. I John 1:9 says, “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”

The next thing to do is to go to the woman with which you have been immoral, and ask her for her forgiveness. Matthew 5:23,24 says, “Therefore if thou bring thy gift to the altar, and there rememberest that thy brother hath ought against thee; Leave there thy gift before the altar, and go thy way; first be reconciled to thy brother, and then come and offer thy gift.”

You must center on putting the Lord first in your life. Proverbs 16:7 says, “When a man's ways please the LORD, he maketh even his enemies to be at peace with him.”

There are many other things which must also be considered. If this woman is not a Christian, then it is not God’s will for you to be seeking marriage with her until she is saved. Find a good local church where the Bible is preached and followed, and get some good, godly friends around you which will encourage you to do right.
