Who was the first Gentile?

q.gif (1639 bytes)  WHO WAS THE FIRST GENTILE?

a.gif (1659 bytes)   I am not sure who you would call the first Gentile, but the first Jew would be Abraham. God gave the promise that He would make of Abraham a nation. Genesis 12:1,2 says, "Now the LORD had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father's house, unto a land that I will show thee: And I WILL MAKE OF THEE A GREAT NATION, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing." That the Jews looked to Abraham as their father (the beginning of the Jewish people) is evident from John 8:39, "They answered and said unto him, ABRAHAM IS OUR FATHER." It is hard to say who was the first Gentile, because it would have been everyone else who was living at the time that God made that promise to Abraham.
