Are all Baptists Calvinistic?

   WHAT’S UP WITH THE MANY DENOMINATIONS? I ATTEND A BAPTIST CHURCH. I LOOKED UP BAPTIST, AND IT MENTIONED CALVINISM. OF WHAT I HEARD, CALVINISM IS NOT ALL GREAT. DOES MY CHURCH AND CALVINISM BELIEVE THE SAME THING? EXPLAIN CALVINISM.

  Calvinism believes in a "Limited Atonement." That is, they believe that Jesus only died for "the elect." They are wrong, because the Bible is clear that Jesus died for the whole world, even though the only ones who will benefit are those who receive Christ. John 3:16 says, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."

    Calvinism also believes in "Irresistible Grace." That is, that the only people who can be saved, are those whom God "draws to Himself," and those whom "God draws," will come to Him — they "cannot resist." They are wrong, because God "draws all men to be saved." Jesus said in John 12:32, "And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me." And we know that many do resist and reject the Lord Jesus Christ.

    These are just a couple of the unscriptural points of Calvinism. Some Baptist churches are "Calvinistic." They are unscriptural — stay away from them.
