2. Who wrote Psalms? __________

3. David wrote more than just his ideas — God used him to write __________________.

4. According to II Timothy 3:16, all __________________ is given by inspiration of God.

5. We need to sing songs that are scriptural — songs that have __________ truth in them.

6. It is interesting to note that as churches have forsaken hymns and sacred music, they have renamed their services. Even they seem to realize that some of their music is no longer ______________________ to sing in a regular church service, so they have renamed it the ________________________ Service.

7. Hebrews 3:13 tells us to exhort one another daily, lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of ______.

8. Exhortation has been replaced by __________________________ in many churches.

9. As churches have laid aside the ____________ preaching of God’s Word, they have also laid aside the hymns.

10. The true message of taped background music is “Our musicians are not ________ enough — we need a more professional sound.”

11. The next group to be replaced will be the __________________. They are the ones who rejected the musicians as not professional enough to accompany them.

12. Who will be next for replacement? The ____________, because there are also more professional speakers to be found out there. If he, as the spiritual leader, allows the vocalists to snub the musicians; and the congregation to snub the vocalists, then he is next on the list.

13. The present rise of popularity of children’s choruses being sung in church worship services tells us a lot about the caliber of Christians today, “And I, brethren, could not speak unto you as unto spiritual, but as unto carnal, even as unto __________ in Christ.”

14. I John 2:15 says to “love not the world, neither the ____________ that are in the world.”

15. Music that is too worldly to be played/sung in church, is just too ____________ to play/sing at all.

16. Romans 8:6 tells us that “to be carnally minded is death; but to be ______________________ minded is life and peace.”

17. Spiritual songs appeal to the spirit of a person — not to the __________.

18. Ephesians 5:19 makes it clear that even when you are BY YOURSELF, you should still only listen to psalms, and ____________, and spiritual songs.

19. Your true spirituality is what you are by ________________, when no one else is around.

20. The key to a prosperous life, according to Psalm 1, is to delight in the law of the Lord, and to meditate in it ______ and __________.

21. The church is made up of individual believers, and what individual believers practice in private, they eventually practice in ____________.

22. The Bible says that a Christian is not to be filled with alcohol, but to be filled with the _________________.

23. The evidence of being filled with the Holy Spirit is that you have a ________ in your heart.

24. We are told to “Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the _________.

25. Jesus has spoken that we might have __________, but in the world we will have tribulation.

26. Rock music does not bring a spirit of peace, but a spirit of ________________________.

27. Country/western music does not bring a spirit of peace, but a spirit of longing, ______________, or loneliness.

28. Ephesians 5:19 tells us that we are to be “singing and making _____________ in your heart to the Lord.”

29. That is really strange that Christian music should sound so much like the world’s music, because II Corinthians 5:17 says “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: ______ things are passed away; behold ______ things are become new.”

30. God cares about the music, that it has a proper melody to it. God cares about the __________ — just like He cares about the words.

31. Film producers have known for a long time (and radio program producers even before that), that the __________ behind the words is very important — or the audience does not recognize what the scene is leading up to or showing.

32. There is no such thing as neutral music. All music has an ____________ upon the listener — without a word even being spoken.

33. With today’s contemporary music, you often cannot even understand the words until you hear the song several times — which means that all you are hearing is __________.

34. You can give music any name that you want (Contemporary Christian, Southern Gospel, Praise, Negro Spiritual, Choruses, etc.), but the TRUE TEST as to whether your music is spiritual or carnal will be seen BY THE CROWD’S ________________ TO IT. If they just cannot seem to sit still, but have to move — your music is ____________, it is stirring up the flesh.

35. It is NOT AMERICANIZING people on the mission field to teach them that their music and dress is wrong. It is not a nationality issue — it is a __________________ issue. When a person gets saved, he must be willing to forsake all — even his ______________, when it is against the Bible.

36. Just because music does not have a rock beat to it, does not mean that it is inherently good music. It could be ________, but in a different way. Hymns are songs that are set apart to ______________ God, whereas classical music is mostly music that was written for plays, ballets (a fancy word for __________ music), and other worldly performances (which were often immoral in nature). Remember, no music is neutral.

37. Matthew 12:34 says, “O generation of vipers, how can ye, being evil, speak good things? for out of the abundance of the __________ the mouth speaketh.” Even so, a wicked, immoral composer is not going to produce good music, but ________ music out of his evil heart.

38. Upon reading such a book, the Christian will discover that the world of classical composers is as wicked, vile, ungodly, and immoral, as ___________________ is in this day.

39. Janacek was not finding his music from the God of nature, but from nature his ______. And what happens when people glorify nature above God, or nature as their god? It results in ____________.

40. I Thessalonians 5:22 says to “Abstain from all _________________ of evil.”

41. Why would you listen to a piece of music that was composed/played by long-haired men? I Corinthians 11:14 is very clear that such men are living in open sin and shame, “Doth not even nature itself teach you, that, if a man have long hair, it is a __________ unto him?” How can you be helped spiritually by his music, when he is defying God’s Word with his very appearance? He is not a spiritual man, but a ____________ man.

42. On many Christian female vocalists’ CD/cassette covers, they appear immodest in dress/stance. It is all geared to stir the __________ of male listeners to buy their music. They are carnal and sensual in their appearance, and it is going to be evident in their music.

43. Proverbs 13:20 says “He that walketh with wise men shall be wise: but a companion of fools shall be ___________________.”

44. John 3:19 tells us that men loved darkness “because their deeds were ________.”

45. It is common today for singing groups to TURN DOWN the LIGHTS; to TURN UP the SOUND; and to add some flashing strobe lights. The darkness; the beat; the flashing lights; and the screaming of the fans works up people into the heat of their ________________. It is no different than any rock concert that the world would host.

46. If you listen to contemporary Christian music, then people are going to associate you with ________ & ________ music.

47. Christians and churches seem to forget that music is always ____________________ with something — either with God, or with the world.

48. What we need is some old-fashioned repentance, where people ______________ their sin — not drag it into the church with them.

49. Does it not seem strange that there are so many professing believers still playing their old worldly music? They got saved, but they still have the same old sound? They got saved, but they still play the same old beat? What is new in their lives? The Bible says that ______ things are to become ______.

50. Did the church start rock music? ______

51. Did the church start country/western music? ______

52. Did the church start classical music? ______

53. Did the church start blues, jazz, pop, rap, etc.? ______

54. It was the __________ that started all those sounds.

55. One thing quickly becomes clear — IT DOES NOT MATTER HOW YOU WERE RAISED — YOU ARE NOW ______________________ TO LIVE A NEW LIFE IN CHRIST. Your real problem is not how you were raised, but whether you are now truly willing to ____________ of your sin.

How The Bible Says You Can Be Saved

1. Do you realize that you have sinned? (Rom. 3:23) (I John 1:8)

2. Do you realize the penalty for your sin? (Rom. 6:23)

3. Do you realize that if you die in your sin, you will go to hell?  (Psa. 9:17) (Prov. 15:24) (Luke 12:4,5)

4. Do you realize that the Lord Jesus Christ paid that death penalty for you? (Rom. 5:8) (I Pet. 3:18) (I Pet. 2:24)

5. Do you realize that it is only through the shed blood of the Lord Jesus Christ that you can be saved, and not through any good works of your own? (I John 1:7) (I Pet. 1:18,19) (Eph. 2:8,9) (Titus 3:5-7)

6. Do you realize that after Jesus died for your sins, He arose victorious from the grave the third day, proving that His sacrifice was sufficient to pay for all of the sins of the whole world? (I Cor. 15:1-4)

7. Do you realize that to be saved you must repent (you must have the desire to turn from your sin and false beliefs, and for the Lord Jesus Christ to cleanse you from all your sin)? (Luke 13:3) (Acts 3:19) (Acts 26:20)

8. Do you realize that after you get saved, God’s first command for you is for you to get baptized and then to live for Him?  (Acts 2:41) (II Cor. 5:17)

9. Are you ready to now pray and ask the Lord Jesus Christ to forgive you of all your sins, and to save you? (John 1:12) (Rom. 10:13) (I John 5:13)

* If you are, then bow your head right now and confess to God that you are a sinner deserving judgment. Ask the Lord Jesus Christ to forgive you of all your sins, and to save you. Ask Him to cleanse your life, and to give you the power to live for Him. Ask Him to lead you to a good, Bible-preaching church, where you can follow the first command after salvation — that of getting baptized and publicly confessing your faith in Him. Ask Him to help you find some good Christian friends to encourage you in the faith and to help you grow.

q — I have just asked the Lord Jesus Christ to save me.
